You Have Stayed Too Long on this spot, It is Time to Step Up toGreatness - Gabriel Olatunji-Legend
There has to be more to life than waking up in the morning, eating, going to work, returning home, sleeping and waking up again the following day to follow the same routine; something told me that there was more to life than these. I went in search of knowledge; I knew my life was much more than doing all these mundane things. It is mundane when the only thing you are living for is making money, having sex, drinking, gambling, partying, eating or going to work – it is necessary that you come to a point where you ask yourself that, ‘Is this all there is to life?’
Wealth is good but the accumulation of wealth cannot be all that there is to life because in my recent study I discovered that any fool can make money. Any fool can make money but not every fool can be great. The difference between a rich man and a great man is the ability of the great man to know that there is something much more to his life than just making money. Everyone wants to be wealthy these days, it is a good thing but I am challenging you to step it up a bit, don’t desire wealth, desire greatness. Mandela was and will always remain a great man and he never lacked anything financially – you must understand that wealth is not greatness because making money is cheap. I can tell you two things to do and you will accumulate wealth but greatness isn’t taught, it is discovered or should I say revealed.
Abraham was asked to ‘Get Out’ of his father’s house to a land God would show him and the good book recorded that when Abraham was leaving he took all his wealth (cattles, silver and slaves). That was confusing for me because I thought God asked him to leave that place so that he could be wealthy but I saw that he was already wealthy even before called him to Greatness. That showed to me that the journey from poverty to wealth isn’t the greatness journey – that’s probably what is called the success journey. Greatness isn’t wealth or its acquisition but the pursuit of a goal that is heavenly and earthly inclined.
I will write a sequel to this but let me round off by saying that you have stayed too long on this spot, it is time to step up to greatness. Making money must stop being the driver of your life; greatness must start determining how you make your decisions. Men make money but great men make impact. Men have sex outside marriage but great men get married and have sex with one partner. Men fear Ebola but great men knows there is a God that can cure Ebola. Men go to work and return only daily but great men go to work to fulfil a mandate. Until you understand that there is more to your life than the things you want to acquire then you have not started on the journey to greatness. May I also say that Greatness is not an event, it is a journey – it is a lifestyle.

PrincessSays: Going the Extra-mile by @adayaeze
Laying on my bed with my favorite Nora Robert novel and a chilled glass of my secret love (veuve cliqot) I keep getting this nagging voice which has already been etched in my subconscious world, 'have you gone the extra-mile?', 'have you taken that last step that is to set me above my peers?'. So many times we find ourselves in the multitude of averages afraid of moving further, afraid of setting a great pace, most times it is the fear of not knowing where the tunnel leads to. Taking the likes of Dangote, Adenuga and other great men in the business arena. They have set their pace from the crowd, gone the extra mile and are standing tops in their domain. It might not really be the fear of taking any risk but a whole lot of us are happy to remain in our comfort zone; a zone we believe we can easily control and manipulate the way we want. We are so in love with this comfort zone that sometimes we fail to realize when we are being choked up, sometimes we miss out on opportunities because we keep failing to look beyond the box. Before we start these tiny bold steps we have to let go of the mantra, "I will rather be a king in this arena than try something else".
Conquering one's pursuit is wonderful but striving to carve a niche in the eyes of the world is a different ball game. We have to let go of our in-depth fear of failing and hold on to the confidence of succeeding; it might seem like a risk but a risk worth taking; daring to do more; striving for global success. A great man once said outside the box is where talent goes to strive and succeed and I look at it in my own way and asked, why does it have to be outside the box and not inside the box?
Taking the likes of our soccer champions Leo Messi and Ronaldo - they keep pushing outside the box, they are going the extra-mile to top their game.
Definitely, it is never going to be easy but all you have to do is be your own motivation and soar to the top.

#MondayInspiration: Create Your Own Rules - Gabriel Olatunji-Legend
You may not totally agree with it but life is governed by a set of rules; a football player must learn the technicality of the game to enter into the professional league. Whatever industry you find yourself there are set of rules the people before you have applied and has given them positive results – you must discover those rules and apply them but in your own way; by that you will create your own rules.
For instance, it is a general rule that if you want to lead you must be a reader; you must have a yearning for knowledge and the accumulation of it. We have been often told or asked to read books and read them in full but that rule is twisted; please don’t read books, read what you need, read what will be of benefit to you and your purpose. Sometimes you pick up a 170 page book and you struggle to read it all up because they said you must read and read in full – that is you following the rules of the world; create your own rules. Instead of reading the whole book why not highlight two or three chapters that speak about a challenge you are facing at the moment and read those – it is not the volume of the book that you read which matters but the application of the little that you picked – this is how to create your own rules.
Many people have struggled with different situations everyday of their lives because they were trying to achieve things the same way others before them achieved it but you must realize that you may be in the same race but you are not the same as others. You are different from everyone else and that’s why you must take the rule but create it in your own way, in the way that best suits you and helps you achieve positive results. I know people who pray for 1 hour daily but they never felt the prayer, they only do it because their pastors say they should spend at least 1 hour in prayer everyday. What they fail to ask is if they have to do the 1 hour at once. It is not necessary you do because the God you serve doesn’t have an appointment that will make him too busy for you the next time. Why not spend some quality love session 15 minutes in prayer in the morning, spend another 15 minutes of quality worship and prayer during the day – you can spend little time like this in prayer even for more than four times and you would have spent more than an hour praying but you probably have not given that a deep thought and that is because you are still operating the world’s set of rules, it is time to create your own rules.
You must challenge popular opinion and rules, ask yourself if there is a better way to do it than how it is being presently propagated. In your business what are the general rules you are finding it hard to apply, recreate those rules to suit you. In your life what are the rules you believe that if applied your life will be an envy to others but you are finding it difficult to apply these rules, it is time to take this rules, look at them carefully, recreate them to suit your own style and apply them. I can assure you that you will most likely get a better result than those applying those rules in their regular state. I challenge you to break the status quo, challenge popular opinion and create your own rules.

#MondayInspiration: Break Your Own Record - Gabriel Olatunji-Legend
Records are there to be broken and everyone must live to break records, I am of the opinion that if you fail to break records you have lived below your potential because truly great men are those who constantly break records. By this I don't mean go on a competition spree looking for whose records to break - that is cheap and easy to do; the biggest record you can break is your own record. You must break your own record, that is the starting point towards personal greatness.
The day you come to the realisation that you should constantly be in a battle with yourself is the day you discover the secrets of great men. The seed of greatness is inside every man but not every man gets to plant that seed; I wish we will all reach out inside of ourselves and bring out the greatness God has put on our inside. No one is born to be less than great, it is our choice to remain small.
One of the reasons why we have remained small is because we try to compete with people, our friends, neighbours and even competitors but truly great men have discovered that small minds compete with each other but a great man competes with himself. It is saddening to see that even blood brothers compete against themselves, sisters fight just to get ahead of each other, friends turn to enemies all in the chase of success - I believe that the more the merrier, the sky is wide enough for everyone of us to fly if we so choose. We are not all running the same race because we aren't going to the same place; run your own race, take it one step at a time even if it seems others are doing better than you - it is only a matter of time, if you keep setting and breaking your own record you will attain greatness in no time.
If all of these don't make sense to you yet let me help you drive the point home - you were able to save #10 000 last month, it is time for you to break that record and save #15 000 this month. You were able to read one chapter throughout this month you must strive to read three next month. Maybe you have never been able to write anything more than 600 words in your life, you can break your own record by writing 3000 words and probably publish a book. You have always desired to make your own Youtube videos but you have been procrastinating, it's time to borrow someone's iPad or a camera to make the recording. There is a place that you were yesterday, you were a certain person, and you did certain things but if you must break your own record you must leave where you are, become a new person, and change what you do - do it better!

PrincessSays: Lessons From World Cup II - by @adayaeze
Lessons From World Cup - Nigeria was knocked out in the round of 16 match. I wasn't surprised and this was because(for those who see more than others do) we were way too relaxed in that match, and already basking in some kind of unseen victory, unprepared right from the start and more lost by the end of the match .
We are in the second phase of the year and so many people are already counting their victories. Yes we all want to succeed but never allow the victory of the first set of a tournament over whelm you until you get to the very end. Indeed life is a tournament and we are all playing our various games; whether we win or lose, the answer lies in our heart. Like the hen who lays the egg, she doesn't jubilate until she hatches her chicks. So you too don't go all jumping and dancing, forgetting that the journey is not yet over.
I am not asking you not to count your victories so far, I am not saying don't be happy with what you have already achieved but do not allow it overwhelm you. Don't let that little success fill up your head and you forget the big picture.
Definitely we weren't the only team knocked out in the round of 16, but they all went down fighting, they all got to the extra time before they caved in. Just as in life you win some and lose some but never go down without a fight. What other way to portray the different stages of life other than this beautiful game of soccer. Two halves of 90 minutes, two parts of 1 year; we have gotten to our own halftime. This is the time to rest for a while, regain our energy, and reflect on all we have done. Not bask in victory and forget we have six more months coming, correct possible errors we must have made and re-strategize in the bid of achieving our primary goal 'winning' at the beginning of this year. We all listed our new year resolutions. So bring back your list, study the areas we have exceeded on, the areas we are still making mistakes and self package ourselves for a smoother ride to December.
Time to re-intensify our efforts other wise this year will end like a glimpse without us achieving our resolutions.
We all know we can't do it alone, just like the players can't do without their coach. So let's all be responsible to do our own part so that there will be something for God to bless.

Just Like Joshua by Fisayo 'Check' Odebode
I know a man
A living legend
Miraculously preserved
As the elders obtained
The good report of him
Just like Joshua
He’s not just a seer
But a smooth nourisher
And a zealous zealot
A bump is an encounter
Despite all disjoint
Refrains from discord
To create the harmony
Percussing the refrain
A symbol of fulfilment
A symbol of restoration
Arousing with passion
A well of expertise
I know a man
Competent and skilful
He’s just like Joshua
He's a slave driver
Wired to inspire
As my fives sits
Strictly '4' signature
I outro my salute
Irregular, yet in time
This poem is written in honour of a Mentor, Model, Slave Driver and Living Legend; Dr Kunle Joshua Pinmiloye, popularly called 'Ksticks'
Ksticks is a lecturer at the Department of Music, Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife. He is also the Music Director at Daystar Christian Center. He had his Association Board of Royal School of Music, London and had a degree course in music which enabled him become the first drummer to major in drums. Having a PhD in drums was a challenge as he's the first of the kind. Ksticks has a wide scope and impact on the world music both home and abroad. This is so because he has trained people musically within and outside Nigeria in vocals, music conducting, music business and african drumming!
Ksticks is undoubtedly a genius and a classic. His impact on Nigerian and African music cannot be overemphasised.
Ksticks will be Live in Concert/Launch of his DVD "INSIGHT INTO AFRICAN DRUMMING". A one of it's kind sensational and electrifying event that features great men like Kore, Nathaniel Bassey, Wole Oni, Mike Abdul, Holy Mallam, Wale Oba, Laide Sax, Mike Aremu, Simone Keys, Sheyi Kehnny, Samson Conga, African Master Drummers (AMD) and many more.

PrincessSays: Lessons From the World Cup - @adayaeze
The whole world was shocked and loaded with confusion when the Spanish boys were disgraced out of the group stage. For eight years, the Spanish boys both at country level and club level held the world spell bound. They gave us excitement, a reason to stay glued, watch their fluid movement and sensual display on pitch. It was like watching a great performer.
The world was thrilled and always ready to watch them but suddenly they lost it and were defeated the way nobody expected. It wasn't because they weren't good enough or because they lost it but because they failed to upgrade what they already had. They failed to change tactics, to add that little change.
As we already know, change is the most constant thing in life and if you fail to move with the trend you are setting a pace for failure. To so many it's about watching the game and being entertained but when you meditate on the game of soccer, you find out it is something you can reflect on your daily life.
When you are on top you keep fighting to remain in the top. Although it is never going to be easy but you just have to move with the trend. If the game mode is changing you also have to change. A little mistake and we end up hitting rock bottom but still it is not enough to despair; lick up your wound and try better when another opportunity arises. I was actually disappointed myself but just like it is in a game so also it is in life; anything can happen. As you enjoy this beautiful game let's watch out for our lesson and always try to work better and keep improving ourselves. It just does not have to be the same dance steps all the time. With something new, a little twist and it ends up in your favour again.

Stop Going Back to Your Vomits - @OLATUNJISPEAKS
There is a theory that says men usually desire that which they cannot have. Hence, they invest their energy in projects that wouldn’t yield dividend for them – this is the bane of our issues in life. There are certain things you’ve once tried to have or do and gotten to a point; after much consideration, decided that you shouldn’t be doing this but after some fraternizing with it again we get all emotional and consider the option again. The problem with this is that we end up frustrated and dejected like we were the first time. Not all Ex’es should be taken back – you shouldn’t go out with him or her because he or she came back – if the issues which stopped you in the first place have not been resolved, you may end up in disappointment like the first time.
Many times when it concerns emotional matters, it is difficult to let go and accept that we cannot have some things. This is why some people break up to go back to an Ex but they eventually get hurt because they made the decision without asking if the fundamental reasons why they broke up in the first place have been addressed. Don’t get emotional about it, you cannot solve this one with emotions but with wisdom and a book refers to Wisdom as the principal thing (the most important thing). Wisdom is knowing when to let go and when to hold on – please stop holding on to what may kill you.
I have been close to some women in the past but one or two reasons made it impossible for us to either date or consider dating and I found out that each time I have close conversations with them the emotions come rushing back. I usually consider the possibility of getting something on with them but I remember what wisdom is and try to make the best decision for myself. This situations have risen in other aspects of my life aside relationships too and I simply try to do the same thing – don’t get it twisted! It is not as easy as I’m saying it but with a lot of self belief it is possible. Think about the fact that you don’t want to be going round in circles and you want to make a headway.
Stop Going Back to Your Vomits, it is not good for your life – whatever you vomit is probably not good for your system at the time which is why your body rejected it. Our life is a system, there are things we have carefully vomited in the past; some in relationships, businesses, academics, habits, character and in other areas of life – you need not go back to them. Your life is probably better for it; look at your life well and only if your life and future will not be better for it, should you go back to those vomits.

Your life is probably better for it; look at your life well and only if your life and future will not be better for it, should you go back to those vomits.
