Princess Obi: Why was I born to slave in poverty?

badThings

Lying on my bed, I can't but help the tiny twinge of despair, hopelessness and failure, pondering and wondering why some people live better than I do, dress in the best apparel, move with the shakers of the community and wine and dine with all caliber of class, then I question my existence' why was I born to slave in poverty' but what I failed to realize was that the grass always look greener on the other side of the fence, that life always seem better when viewed from afar.
It is a natural human phenomenon to imagine that other people live better than you or what they have is better than yours, most times this isn't jealousy or selfishness but a wanton desire to live better than others; and often times we are shocked beyond measure that no matter how hard you try, you will always be the middle man, someone ahead and others behind. The grass looks greener in your neighbor's yard, his life looks more blissful than yours, he looks happier, he looks everything better than you but when you really sit and think then you know the problem is 'you are comparing different shades of green'.
Our major challenge is not how we describe it but how other people around us describe it. Most times when people describe a better life, they are only describing a personal character and inner strength displayed by the other person. How we want other people to describe our shade as the greenest depends solely on us and must be of great importance and this we can achieve through these few steps;

  • Remove every irritation/negativity we bring in our daily relationship with people.

  • We must emphasize on our strength and celebrate it, let it touch other people lives, allow our light to shine on other people around us.

  • Always do the right thing and do not be unduly influenced by our environment.

And remember the positive things we say or do about ourselves will end being what other people say or believe about us.
